About

Hi and welcome to my blog! I'm Tricia, stay-at-home mom to three young kids and wife to 1 fantastic husband. Prior to having my babies I was an early childhood education teacher for 11 years. During those years I gained an enormous amount of experience teaching children to love learning.

Now as a mom I am thrilled to be putting my knowledge and philosophies to use yet again! I strongly believe in the power of play. Play is a child's work!  Providing opportunities for spontaneous uninterrupted play will help benefit children in all aspects of development. I believe in fostering the imagination and creativity of all children.  I believe this can be done through open ended art projects, picking up on the interests of the child, encouraging dramatic play, allowing the child to lead and asking questions to encourage critical thinking, problem solving and self confidence.

I also believe children learn best by participating in hands on activities with real, relevant and concrete materials.

When I'm not hanging out with my kiddos I love to practice my photography skills. I am a mostly self taught photographer that loves to take pictures of my kids and I have also started to do child and family photo sessions on the side. I can't mention photography without giving credit to Clickin Moms. It's pretty much where I learned everything I know about photography. If you are interested in learning more about photography I highly recommend heading over there.

Speaking of photography I also consider myself the family archiver. I spend a lot of time finding ways to show case photos, make family albums, create family traditions, organizing art work, etc. I'm pretty much a sucker for anything related to making and recording memories.

Here you will find a little bit of all these passions and anything else I discover while we are living, loving and learning in these precious fleeting early years!

Thanks for coming along for the ride!
